The President of the Croatian National Assembly (HNS) of BiH, Dragan Čović, sent a letter to key international actors, informing them of the conclusions from yesterday's HNS Extraordinary Session in Mostar.

The letter, along with HNS conclusions, was sent to more than 20 international addresses, including top EU officials, U.S. and European mediators in BiH's electoral reform, Croatia's leadership and to the members of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) Steering Board.

- All political representatives of the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, gathered in the Croatian National Assembly of BiH, held a detailed discussion on the current political, legal and security crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of this extraordinary session. We paid special attention to the discussion on the existing political obstructions that some political actors in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina persistently apply in order to prevent the completion of the necessary process of electoral legislation reform and limited Constitutional reforms, Čović stated in the letter.

He emphasized that the discussion welcomed the constructive efforts of the international community in the negotiations so far, including all representatives of the EU, the U.S. and the Council of Europe, in finding sustainable solutions to implement the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights, the BiH Constitutional Court Ruling in the case U 23/14 of 1 December 2016 and the Mostar Political Agreement on the Principles of Amendments to the BiH Election Law of 17 June 2020.

The HNS President adds that „in the wake of the last chance to get out of the current crisis“, the HNS adopted conclusions that are binding on all top political officials and legitimate representatives of the Croatian constituent people in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- In the deep belief that we still have a short time for a final agreement on amendments to the electoral legislation and limited Constitutional reforms, which would enable a way out of the biggest political crisis after the war in BiH and which would certainly restore damaged trust, I invite you all together, with your authority, to contribute to the urgent resolution of the remaining open issues that are an obstacle to the successful conclusion of an extremely demanding negotiation process, Čović concluded in a letter to international officials.
